Ohio State eliminated Georgia at NCAA tournament

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Michael Stephens hit a pair of homers, including a three-run shot to highlight a six-run seventh inning, and Ohio State beat Georgia 13-6 on Sunday to eliminate the Bulldogs from the NCAA tournament.

Stephens also hit an inside-the-park homer in the third inning, as the third-seeded Buckeyes (42-18) built a 5-2 lead they never relinquished. Corey Kovanda also drove in a pair of runs for Ohio State.

Jake Hale struck out six in a season-high 2 2-3 innings for his 18th save in relief of Ohio State starter Drew Rucinski.

Zach Cone homered twice for the Bulldogs (38-24), who played for the 2008 College World Series championship.
