The team says the surgery took five hours on Tuesday. The team says James has been aware of the medical issue for several months, but opted to postpone the surgery until the NBA season was over.

James is recovering at the Cleveland Clinic and will soon be returning home to his family.

The team says doctors believe James will make a complete recovery and will not require any further treatment.
