Timberwolves host final workout

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves played host to their final group of draft prospects on Tuesday. Now new president David Kahn is preparing for what he expects to be 48 hours of trade chatter heading into the draft.

The Timberwolves hold the sixth, 18th and 28th selections in the first round of Thursday’s draft. That gives them plenty of ammunition to try and move up if they think it is worth it.

The Timberwolves hosted many of the top prospects in this year’s class for workouts at Target Center. Spanish guard Ricky Rubio, Davidson guard Stephen Curry and Connecticut center Hasheem Thabeet were the only top-flight players not to show up.

Kahn said that would not play a role in Minnesota’s draft decisions.
