Dewalt leaving Roush Fenway at end of season
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former NASCAR champion Matt Kenseth is losing his sponsor after 10 seasons.
Roush Fenway Racing says Dewalt Power Tools told the team Thursday it will not return in 2010. Team president Geoff Smith says the decision is not a surprise because of the worldwide decline in the construction industry.
Sponsorship has waned throughout NASCAR over the past year because of the economic collapse.
Dewalt was on Kenseth’s car for the 2003 Cup championship, 18 victories — including this year’s Daytona 500 — and the 2000 rookie of the year award.
