Louisiana-Lafayette beats Louisiana-Monroe 21-17

LAFAYETTE, La. — Backup quarterback Brad McGuire rushed for two touchdowns to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 21-17 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night.

The Ragin< Cajuns (6-5, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) reached six wins and became bowl-eligible for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Warhawks (6-5, 5-2) are also bowl-eligible but needed a victory to have a chance to share the conference title.

Louisiana-Monroe took a 17-14 lead in the third quarter when Trey Revell hit Keavin Milton with an 11-yard scoring pass.

But Louisiana-Lafayette drove 80 yards in 12 plays for the winning score in the fourth, with quarterback Chris Masson completing three passes for 48 yards during the march. A pass interference penalty on the Warhawks in the end zone gave the Cajuns a first down at the 2-yard line. McGuire scored on the second play with 7:16 left.
