Charleston Southern defeats Trinity 99-50

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Jeremy Sexton scored 17 points and tallied seven assists to lead Charleston Southern past Trinity (Fla.) 99-50 on Monday night.

After Trinity (1-4) took a 2-1 lead, four dunks by Kelvin Martin highlighted a 11-2 Buccaneers’ run, capped by a Jamarco Warren 3-pointer with 16 minutes left in the first half.

Charleston Southern (3-1) then scored 10 straight points for a 24-6 lead on a Billy Blackmon dunk with 12:56 remaining before halftime.

The Buccaneers led 49-30 at halftime, before scoring seven straight, and taking a 56-30 lead on an alley-oop from Kenny Mitchell to Warren with 13:24 to play.

Four players scored in double figures for Charleston Southern, and 13 players finished with at least two points. Martin tallied 14 points, and Mitchell and Austin Jordan added 10 each for the Buccaneers.

Petrie Addison scored 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting for the Tigers.
