Tulane cruises to 82-55 win over Alabama State

NEW ORLEANS — Kris Richard scored 21 points in 16 minutes of playing time as Tulane cruised to an 82-55 victory over Alabama State on Monday night.

Richard was 8-for-10 from the field, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, for the Green Wave (3-3). Richard was the only player on either team to score in double figures as all 14 Tulane players scored at least two points.

The Green Wave jumped out to an 11-2 lead and led for the first time this season at halftime 46-21. The Hornets (1-3) never got closer than eight the rest of the game.

Tulane shot a season-high 56.9 percent from the floor (29-for-51) and dished out 21 assists while holding Alabama State to 33.3 percent from the field (19-for-57).

Terrance Beasley added eight points for Tulane.

Tramayne Moorer and Jeffery Middlebrooks scored nine points each for the Hornets, who won the rebounding battle 38-29.
