Ryan hits winning jumper in double overtime to lift Evansville over Tennessee Tech 91-90

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Colt Ryan hit a jumper with 5 seconds on the clock in double overtime to lift Evansville to a 91-90 win over Tennessee Tech on Tuesday night.
Ned Cox led the Purple Aces (3-2) with 22 points. Ryan added 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists while also hitting a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left in regulation.
A charging foul erased Kevin Murphy’s layup for the Golden Eagles (3-5) with 3.4 seconds left, forcing overtime.
Tennessee Tech lost another apparent game-winner when officials viewed the instant replay and ruled that Jud Dillard’s tip-in for 92-91 came after time expired.
Evansville, which trailed by 15 points in the first half, led 56-50 with 9:36 left in the second. Tennessee Tech pulled ahead 70-64, then the Purple Aces closed the half with a 9-3 run.
Frank Davis led the Golden Eagles with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Murphy added 17 points.
