Maine routs Maine-Presque Isle 133-58
ORONO, Maine — Gerald McLemore scored 25 points to lead eight Maine players in double figures as the Black Bears set a school scoring record in a 133-58 victory over Maine-Presque Isle on Thursday night.
Maine (4-4) eclipsed the previous record set in a 127-86 win over Vermont on Feb. 19, 1994. The Black Bears also set a school record for field goals, going 54-for-90 (60 percent) to surpass the 52 they hit last year against the Owls, an NAIA school.
Maine, coming off a 101-55 loss at Syracuse, shot 67.3 percent (29-for-43) in the first half and lead 70-19 at the break in the game postponed from Wednesday night because of inclement weather.
Troy Barnies added 20 points for the Black Bears and Murphy Burnatowski had 13. Sean McNally, Junior Bernal, Jerrell Boswell and Mike Allison scored 12 apiece and Svetoslav Chetinov had 10.
Kyle Corrigan led Maine-Presque Isle with 20 points.
