No. 16 Mississippi beats Jacksonville State

OXFORD, Miss. — Terrico White scored 29 points and No. 16 Mississippi connected for a school-record 14 3-pointers in a 90-75 victory over Jacksonville State on Tuesday night.

Zach Graham had 14 points and Chris Warren added 11 for the Rebels (11-2), who shot 14 of 31 from 3-point range, including a 7-of-10 performance by White. The Rebels finished 32 of 69 from the field (46 percent).

Mississippi raced to a 17-2 lead and did not give up a field goal until Jeremy Bynum connected on a jumper with 12:51 left. The Rebels led 42-36 at halftime and opened the second half with an 11-2 run and Jacksonville State never pulled closer than 12 points again.

Trenton Marshall led Jacksonville State (5-6) with 20 points and Bynum added 16. The Gamecocks shot 38 percent from the field (25 of 66), but stayed within striking distance by going 19 of 21 from the free throw line.

The Rebels led by as many as 19 points in the first half and by 25 points midway through the second half.

The Rebels, who held Jacksonville State without a field goal for another 7-minute stretch in the second half, improved to 33-1 at home against non-conference teams over the past four seasons under coach Andy Kennedy.
