Tebow tremendous in first half of Sugar Bowl
NEW ORLEANS — Tim Tebow has needed only one half to make the final game of his stellar Florida career a special one.
Tebow has completed 20 of 23 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns while staking the fifth-ranked Gators to a 30-3 halftime lead over No. 4 Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl on Friday night.
Tebow’s third TD also was his longest career completion, an 80-yarder to Riley Cooper which tied for the second-longest completion in Sugar Bowl history.
Tebow entered the Sugar Bowl with single-game career highs of 338 yards and 25 completions.
