Arkansas-Pine-Bluff beats Alabama A&M 82-72
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Terrance Calvin scored 20 points and three other players had double figures in Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s 82-72 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday night.
Salavance Townsend added 15 points, and Lebaron Weathers had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Lions (2-11, 2-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Tavaris Washington added 11 points.
The Lions have won two straight after opening the season with 11 losses in a row.
The Lions went on a 15-4 run in the first half to take their largest lead at 25-8 with 8:52 remaining on a jumper by Weathers. The Bulldogs cut the lead to two points in the second half and trailed 72-68 with 3:07 to play before the Lions closed out the game on a 10-4 run.
Casey Cantey led the Bulldogs (3-8, 0-3) with 21 points. Evan Hilton added 20 points and Cornelius Hester had 10.
