Murray State beats Eastern Illinois 75-59
MURRAY, Ky. — Isacc Miles scored a season-high 21 points, including hitting four 3-pointers, leading Murray State in a 75-59 win over Eastern Illinois on Monday night.
B.J. Jenkins added 14 points and Tony Easley finished with eight points and five blocks for the Racers (14-3, 6-0 Ohio Valley Conference), who continued their best start in the OVC since going 13-0 in 1998-99.
The Racers shot 90.3 percent from the free throw line (28-for-31) compared to just a 68.8 mark (11-for-16) for the Panthers.
The Panthers (10-6, 4-2) led by four points at the break, but Murray State outscored them 51-31 in the second half to run away with the victory.
Tyler Laser scored 13 points and Ousmane Cisse grabbed 11 boards for the Panthers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The Racers, who travel to take on Eastern Illinois again on Jan. 21, have won five in a row and 14 of 16.
