Murray State rolls past Jacksonville State 92-68
MURRAY, Ky. — B.J. Jenkins scored 19 points and Murray State defeated Jacksonville State 92-68 on Thursday night, extending their winning streak to six games.
Jenkins led five Racers (15-3, 7-0 Ohio Valley Conference) in double figures as they won their 12th consecutive home game.
Murray State, the top offensive and defensive team in the OVC, hit nine of its first 13 3-pointers and finished with a season-high 12 in 19 attempts (63.2 percent). The Racers held the Gamecocks to 38.9 percent shooting from the field (21-for-54).
Jenkins went 5-for-6 from the 3-point line for Murray State, and Isacc Miles and Isaiah Canaan added three each.
Canaan’s 3 gave the Racers a 48-37 halftime lead.
Miles finished with 16, Canaan and Ivan Aska had 11 each, and Tony Easley scored 10 for the Racers.
Jeremy Bynum scored 19 points and Nick Murphy added 18 for the Gamecocks (6-10, 2-4).
