Northeastern pulls away to beat Towson 73-48

TOWSON, Md. — Chaisson Allen scored 10 of his 16 points after halftime, and Manny Adako added 12 of his 15 points as Northeastern pulled away in the second half to beat Towson 73-48 on Wednesday night.

It was the 10th consecutive win for the Huskies (12-7, 7-1 Colonial Athletic Association), who started the second half with a 23-6 run after leading 26-24 at halftime.

The Huskies, who shot 62.1 percent (18-for-29) from the field after halftime, held the Tigers (4-14, 1-7) to 31 percent (9-for-29) in the second half. After taking a 49-30 lead with 12:04 remaining, Northeastern was never seriously threatened.

Adako made all six of his shots and Allen finished 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.

Josh Brown scored 14 points to lead Towson, which fell behind 22-16 in the first half after a 10-0 Northeastern run but then held the Huskies scoreless for the next 6:21.
