Binghamton beats New Hampshire 76-73 in OT
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Greer Wright scored 29 points, including a free throw to force overtime and then two more to seal it for Binghamton in the extra frame, as the Bearcats beat New Hampshire 76-73 on Saturday night.
Down 68-66 midway through overtime, Pina Guillaume scored five points in a 30-second span to spark a 10-5 run the rest of the way for Binghamton (10-13, 5-3 America East Conference).
Wright hit both his free throws with 9 seconds left to seal the win for the Bearcats, something he couldn’t do in regulation. After Ferg Myrick hit two free throws to put the Wildcats ahead 66-65 with 36 seconds left, Dane Diliegro fouled Wright. He nailed the first shot to tie the game but missed the second, forcing overtime.
Trailing by four at halftime, Binghamton outscored New Hampshire 38-34 in the second to force OT.
Alvin Abreu paced the Wildcats (8-11, 3-5) with 21 points.
