Old Dominion beats William & Mary 61-42
NORFOLK, Va. — Frank Hassell scored 15 points and Darius James added 11 more, leading Old Dominion in a 61-42 win over William & Mary on Wednesday night and a sweep of the season series.
The Monarchs also beat the Tribe 58-55 on Jan. 23.
Ben Finney added 11 rebounds for the Monarchs (18-6, 10-2 Colonial Athletic Association), who are back on the winning track after losing their last game on Jan. 30 at Northeastern. That loss snapped an eight-game winning streak.
Old Dominion led by seven points at the break, but used a late 14-2 run to seal it. Hassell pitched in five points to spark the spree.
The Monarchs outrebounded the Tribe 48-25, and shot 40 percent from the field (24-for-60). William & Mary had just a 33.3 mark (16-for-48).
William & Mary (15-7, 7-5), which has lost four of the last five games, didn’t have a player in double figures.
