Central Connecticut State defeats Bryant 60-34
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Joe Seymore scored 19 points and Central Connecticut State defeated Bryant 60-34 on Thursday night, the lowest total an opponent has scored against the Blue Devils in the shot clock era.
Bryant’s total was the fewest the Blue Devils (8-14, 5-6 Northeast Conference) have allowed since a 31-28 win over Southern Connecticut State in 1983-84.
The Blue Devils went 1-for-10 in the first 4 minutes and trailed 8-4. They went on a 23-3 run from that juncture and led 27-11 with 8:40 left in the first half.
Markeys Deans scored 12 points and Vince Rosario chipped in 10 for the Blue Devils, who outrebounded Bryant 44-28.
The Bulldogs, who haven’t won since last February, shot 24 percent in the first half (6 of 25). Bryant scored just 14 points in the second half, and went 6-for-26 from the field (23.1 percent) after halftime.
Papa Lo paced the Bulldogs with seven points.
