Pierce scores 16, helps Buffalo stretch Toledo’s losing streak to 14 in 65-59 win

Buffalo beats Toledo 65-59
TOLEDO, Ohio — Rodney Pierce scored 16 points, leading four players in double figures, as Buffalo extended Toledo’s winless streak to 14 games with a 65-59 win on Saturday night.
Calvin Betts and Max Boudreau added 11 points apiece for the Bulls (12-9, 5-5 Mid-American Conference), while Mitchell Watt chipped in 10.
Pierce also led the way at the foul line, going a perfect 4-for-4. The Bulls finished 13-for-18 from the stripe (72.2 percent), compared to just a 2-for-6 mark (33.3 percent) for the Rockets.
Toledo led by one point at the break, and held a 46-39 lead after Malcolm Griffin’s jumper less than 3 minutes into the second half. But Titus Robinson and Pierce hit back to back jumpers for Buffalo, sparking a 12-2 run to take a 51-48 lead.
Buffalo sealed it by holding Toledo scoreless in the final 5 minutes.
Jordan Dressler had 19 points for the Rockets (3-12, 0-10).
