Mount St. Mary’s beats Monmouth 69-42
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Jeremy Goode scored 16 points and Kelly Beidler finished with nine points and 14 rebounds to lead Mount St. Mary’s to a 69-42 win over Monmouth on Thursday night.
Will Holland added 15 points for the Mountaineers (10-14, 7-6 Northeast Conference), who shot 53.3 percent from the floor (24-for-45). Mount St. Mary’s held the Hawks (10-15, 6-7) to 29.1 percent shooting (16-for-55).
The Mountaineers hit 12 3-pointers for the game, led by Holland’s team-high five shots from beyond the arc. Monmouth was also outrebounded 42-30 by Mount St. Mary’s.
Mount St. Mary’s had eight blocked shots compared to the Hawks, who had only one.
George Barbour, who hit 4-of-6 from the field, was the only Monmouth player to score in double-figures with 10 points.
