Hamilton homers again for Texas
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Josh Hamilton hit his third home run in five days and the Texas Rangers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 Thursday night.
Elvis Andrus was 2 for 2 with a run scored, stolen base and RBI for the Rangers. Left-hander Matt Harrison struck out eight in four innings of relief, including five straight strikeouts across the sixth and seventh innings.
Jonathan Lucroy homered for the Brewers.
Hours before the game, Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington admitted to having used amphetamines and marijuana during his playing career. The admission came one day after it was revealed Washington had tested positive for cocaine use last July.
Texas right-hander Tommy Hunter was scratched from his start after straining his left intercostal muscle during warmups.
