Feldman throws seven scoreless in Rangers’ win

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Scott Feldman threw seven shutout innings and Vladimir Guerrero and David Murphy each drove in a pair of runs for the Texas Rangers in a 5-0 win over a Chicago White Sox split squad Sunday.

Feldman, who was named the Rangers’ opening day starter Saturday, allowed six hits with a walk and two strikeouts and became the first Texas pitcher to go seven innings.

Guerrero was 2 for 4 with two RBI singles while Murphy went 2 for 3 with an RBI double in the fifth and run-scoring single in the sixth.

White Sox starter Gavin Floyd rebounded from a horrible outing against San Francisco to hold the Rangers to two runs and eight hits. He walked two and struck out six.

White Sox catcher Ramon Castro left in the top of the second with an apparent leg injury.
