KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Temperature in Kolkata has been a dominant issue for all players who have to sweat it out in the fields amidst the heat and dust. Mohunbagan player Ishfaq Ahmad told the media how tough it is for a footballer to get on the football grounds where temperature in Kolkata is going against the game.
The footballer pointed out that the temperature in Kolkata has been quite high for the past months which extracts all the energy out of a player which is necessary to perform and give out his fullest. He told the media that due to the temperature in Kolkata it is not possible for any player on the ground to offer his 100 percent. Ishfaq Ahmad said that the Indian footballers get to play lesser number of matches than the foreign players. What makes the difference is the temperature in Kolkata which affects their performance as a players body is not being able to put up with the scorching heat of summer. Reportedly, the temperature in Kolkata is always around 40 degree Celsius which is accompanied by high percentage of humidity in the atmosphere. The player pointed out that Kolkata should have natural grass to roll the ball and not any synthetic turf which makes the game play difficult.
To make matters worse, the organisers have dropped in the artificial turf which is making the game play extremely difficult for a player with temperature in Kolkata being hot and humid. It was said that the so called “Astro turf” is not the ideal playing platform as because if the temperature in Kolkata is 35 on the outside, the synthetic turf makes it 40 owing to the fact that it’s pure synthetic.
