Angels’ Double-A pitcher throws no-hitter
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Angels minor-leaguer Ryan Brasier pitched a no-hitter in the Double-A Arkansas Travelers’ 4-0 victory over the Tulsa Drillers on Thursday night.
Brasier, a sixth-round pick by Los Angeles in 2007, struck out three and walked two — his only baserunners.
In the ninth inning, Brasier got Tulsa’s Matt Repec to ground out to third and Radames Nazario hit a fly ball to right field.
After a ball to Anthony Jackson on the first pitch, Brasier got two called strikes and Jackson then fouled off a pitch before grounding out to second base to end the game.
Brasier lost his perfect game when he walked Daniel Mayora with one out in the fourth. Mayora was caught stealing before Jeff Kindel walked.
