UConn women to see Obama after 2nd straight title
STORRS, Conn. — Connecticut’s national champion women’s basketball team will be in Washington, D.C., a week from Monday to get reacquainted with President Barack Obama.
The White House says the Huskies have been invited for a ceremony on May 17 to recognize their seventh overall and second straight NCAA championship and back-to-back undefeated seasons.
After an official ceremony recognizing their sixth title a year ago, the president invited the team for an impromptu game of PIG on the White House basketball court. The president won.
UConn players have said they’re hoping for a rematch.
