Magic’s Rashard Lewis playing with viral infection
ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis says he has been playing with a viral infection during the Eastern Conference finals.
Lewis said after the Magic’s shootaround Wednesday that he’s been sick the “whole series” against the Boston Celtics. He says he has been “feeling weak” and “tired” during games and hasn’t been able to hold food down.
Lewis is shooting 29 percent for the series and averaging seven points per game. The Magic’s highest-paid player has been criticized for his performance in the series thus far. He has a six-year contract worth $118 million.
Lewis said he will take intravenous fluids before Game 5 on Wednesday night for the fourth straight game.
The Celtics lead the Magic 3-1.
