Oklahoma City acquires Aldrich, Peterson
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Thunder have acquired the draft rights to Cole Aldrich and veteran forward Mo Peterson from the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for the rights to Craig Brackins and Quincy Poindexter.
In making the announcement Thursday, executive vice president and general manager Sam Presti said the 6-foot-11 Aldrich will bring a “blue collar” approach to defense and that Morris will add more shooting to the roster.
Aldrich, the 11th overall selection in the 2010 NBA draft, averaged 11.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game during his junior year at Kansas. The 6-foot-7 Peterson, a 10-year NBA veteran, has averaged 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 707 games with the Toronto Raptors and the Hornets.
