Giants recall RHP Todd Wellemeyer from 15-day DL, designate RHP Denny Bautista for assignment

Giants recall Wellemeyer off DL, drop Bautista

ATLANTA — The San Francisco Giants have activated pitcher Todd Wellemeyer from the 15-day DL and designated right-hander Denny Bautista for assignment.

The Giants made the moves Thursday night before to their game at Atlanta

Wellemeyer, who missed 49 games with a right quad strain, was 3-5 with a 5.82 ERA in 11 starts with the Giants this season.

Bautista was 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 30 relief appearances with San Francisco. He pitched 32 innings, allowed 22 hits and struck out 42.
