LANDOVER (Gaeatimes.com)- Dallas Cowboys tried its best, Tony Romo and Roy Williams came up with some good play, but none could save the team from suffering a 13-7 loss from the Washington Redskins at the season opening NFL game on Sunday night. Although the Dallas Cowboys opened their score book late during the game, they were able to decrease the difference to a large extent by the end of the first half. However, it was the 12th penalty of the game that snatched win from them.

From the very beginning of the game, the strong defensive play of the Washington Redskins was able to hold back Dallas Cowboys‘ offense. While the score of the Washington Redskins soared up to 10 in the first half of the game, the Dallas Cowboys struggled to open their score account. It was towards the end of the first half that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo found Miles Austin on a four-yard touchdown pass. The pass although decreased the score difference up to some extent, the mercury soared up towards the end of the game as Washington Redskins added three more points to their 10. Washington Redskins’ Graham Gano with 1:56 minutes left for the game went for 49-yard field goal. Following the goal, Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo found Roy Williams for an apparent touchdown with just three seconds remaining of the game.

The touchdown score would have led to tie between Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. However, just after the end of the game, Dallas Cowboys right tackle Alex Barron was cited for holding linebacker Brian Orakpo and the last touchdown of the Dallas Cowboys was nullified.
