LANDOVER (GaeaTimes.com)- Call it luck or call it foul play, it was the 12th penalty of the Sunday night game that cost the Dallas Cowboys heavily. As Tony Romo found Roy Williams at the right position and just at the right time to score a touchdown and lead his team to a game-tie with Washington Redskins a bolt from the blue landed from the game referee panel. The last second effort of the team was nullified when the game referee ruled against Alex Barron for holding Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo.

Alex Barron on Sunday started the game as Mark Colombo missed the game due to a knee injury. Although there is no denying the fact that the Dallas Cowboys failed to perform well from the beginning of the game, it was the last minute penalty for Alex Barron’s act that changed the face of the game. The Dallas Cowboys committed mistakes one after the other through out the play. The team suffered 12 penalties in 91 yards during the game out of which three holding penalties went against Alex Barron.

Towards the end of the game as Washington Redskins’ Graham Gano went for a 49-yard field goal raising the difference by six points quarterback Tony Romo went for a touchdown pass with Roy Williams. However, their attempt was nullified when umpire Fred Bryan called the third holding penalty against Alex Barron and dismissed the touchdown. After the last minute loss, Alex Barron declined to comment on his play to media sources, but his expression made it evident that he was disappointed with the loss and his role in it.
