NCAA suspends MSU point guard Dee Bost 9 games
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State point guard Dee Bost was suspended nine games by the NCAA after failing to withdraw properly before the NBA Draft’s deadline in May.
Bost, a 6-foot-2 junior, is academically ineligible for the fall semester. He will begin serving his nine-game suspension in December if he is academically cleared for the spring.
Bost has started all 72 games in his MSU career. He averaged 13 points per game last season.
In a statement released by the university Bost thanked the NCAA for giving him a second chance.
Bost says he “only wanted to test the waters and then return to Mississippi State” and that he realizes he made a huge mistake in how he handled the situation.
