Breeders’ Cup 2010 To Start This Weekend

LOUISVILLE, (GaeaTimes.com)- The Breeders’ Cup 2010 is about to begin on November 5, Friday and will continue till the next day. This event is one of the most prestigious Horse Racing event, where horses and riders from all over the world participate. This would be the 27th edition of the Breeders’ Cup and will take place at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, in Kentucky.
It has been estimated that more than 184 horses will be participating in the Breeders Cup 2010 which has a total stake of 25.5 million dollars. A major part of the event will be sponsored by Sentient Jet, Grey Goose, Emirates Airline and TVG Network amongst others. A lot of preparation has been done by the Churchill Downs authorities to make the event as successful as possible. The quarantine facility at Louisville’s Churchill Downs is getting better as the foreign horses are making their way to the venue. With 38 stalls, it is surrounded by concrete firewalls and metal fencing. Private grazing areas are reserved for foreign horses inside the fence line. A lot of other facilities have been provided for the foreign horses so that they do not pass on infections to the domestic horses or get infected from each other. The foreign horses will be kept isolated from the domestic horses and good arrangements have been made for them. They will only come into contact during their training and races.
This year the Breeders Cup 2010 will consist of fourteen events. The first day would have six events, namely Marathon, Juvenile Fillies Turf, Filly & Mare Sprint, Juvenile Fillies Dirt, Filly & Mare Turf and Classic Ladies. The next day will consist of eight more event namely Juvenile Turf, Dirt Sprint, Turf Sprint, Juvenile Dirt, Turf Mile, Dirt Mile, Turf. The event will be concluded with the most prestigious event “Breeders’ Cup Classic”.
