MIAMI (GaeaTimes.com)- Since the last two days there have been several speculations about who would be the next head coach of the Miami Hurricanes, after Randy Shannon was fired from his post, the day before yesterday. The speculation over Jon Gruden’s entry to the team as Randy Shannon’s replacement, seems to be coming true.

A source from the University of Miami revealed that Jon Gruden had a talk with the authorities of the team earlier on Sunday regarding the vacant position of the head coach. Jon Gruden, who has been a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, is supposedly on the top of the Miami Hurricanes‘ wish list to fill up the position and he received “parameters” of an offer. Some sources say that the new coach is being offered a sum of $3 million annually. However, this news is not yet confirmed or executed so far. Sources say that the team is having a number of new young talents, who would be debuting for the hurricanes with the entry of their new coach. They have also said that probably the authorities of the team had spoken to Jon Gruden, before they decided to fire Randy Shannon. This is because it is definitely not an easy task to settle for such a big shot like Jon Gruden, within such a short span of time. It has been just a day, since Randy Shannon has been fired.

Jon Gruden has also been assigned to take care of certain other aspects of the team, like boosting recruitment of Miami Hurricane and settling some of the team’s decisions, once he starts serving his office. This replacement decision was taken by the Athletic director of University of Miami, Kirby Hocutt, who revealed that he expects his team to compete for championships and nothing less and he wants his team to be relevant in college football nationally.
