Fifa World Cup Voting Process Criticized

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — A lot of controversies and criticism regarding England’s failure to win the bid in the Fifa World Cup voting 2010. England was voted out in the first round. Russia won the vote and got the opportunity to stage the event of world Cup 2018. Qatar is in the line to stage the 2022 tournament.
Since the voting many questions are raised against the secret ballot of the voting system that comprised of 22 executive members. This limited number of members raised the criticism.
Russia beat England, Spain/Portugal and Netherlands/Belgium to win the race to host the 2018 competition, while Qatar got the nod ahead of the United States, Japan, South Korea and Australia for 2022.
Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke is not at all agreed to do any reforms in the voting system. according to him, the secret ballot is completely fair and the world is open now to accept Russia as a host country. Northern Ireland’s Jim Boyce criticized the secret ballot and he said that the ballot should be open and not a secret one.
