MELBOURNE - World No.5 Andy Murray moved into the semi-finals of the Australian Open on Wednesday with a testing four-set win over World No.46 Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine.

Murray battled past Dolgopolov 7-5, 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3 in three hours and six minutes at the Melbourne Park.

“It was very tough. Every point against him is different, he hits the ball differently to everyone else, it’s tough to explain,” the BBC quoted Murray, as saying.

“I struggled with my rhythm early on and he came back in the third set, but I thought I did well enough,” he added.

The 23-year-old Scot, through to his fifth Grand Slam semi-final, will now face either World No.1 Rafael Nadal or World No.7 David Ferrer in the last four.

Murray had lost last year’s Australian Open final to Roger Federer. (ANI)
