Jennings puts new path to NBA on full display

INDIANAPOLIS — Brandon Jennings thinks his nontraditional path to the NBA could become a trend if he’s a high pick in next week’s draft.

Jennings wanted to enter the draft last year but couldn’t because of the NBA’s draft eligibility rules. So he decided to skip college and play professionally in Europe.

Now that the 6-foot-2 point guard is back in America, Jennings believes other prep stars are watching to see how he does to see if Europe really is a viable option.

Jennings, who played his final two high school seasons for Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, was an Arizona recruit. He is expected to go in the first round after Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio.
