Dartmouth defeats Lyndon State 83-54

HANOVER, N.H. — Jabari Trotter scored 16 points to lead four Dartmouth players in double figures in an 83-54 win over Lyndon State on Sunday.

David Rufful scored 13 points, R.J. Griffin 12 and Robby Pride 10 for the Big Green (2-6), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

The win was No. 1,200 in program history for Dartmouth, dating back to the 1900-01 season.

The Big Green trailed 22-19 with 9:45 left in the first half before scoring nine straight as part of a 22-8 run to end the half. Griffin capped the run on a 3-pointer with 2:05 left until halftime for a 41-28 Dartmouth lead.

The Big Green shot a season-best 55.7 percent from the field (34 of 61), and held Lyndon State to just 27.3 percent shooting in the second half (9 of 33).

Avery King, the Division III Hornets’ leading scorer with 22.5 points per game, finished with 24 points on 9 of 20 shooting.
