Murray State defeats Tennessee-Martin 83-59
MURRAY, Ky. — Danero Thomas had 14 points, a career-high six steals and five assists to lead Murray State to an 83-59 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Monday night.
Ivan Aska and B.J. Jenkins also scored 14 points apiece for the Racers (11-3, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference), who extended their home winning streak to 10 games.
Murray State never trailed, leading 46-25 at halftime. The Racers pushed the margin to 30 at 69-39 on a layup by Donte Poole.
The Skyhawks (2-10, 0-3) cut the deficit to 71-55 with 5:13 left on a 3-pointer by Reuben Clayton, but could get no closer.
Murray State outshot Tennessee-Martin 55.9 percent (33-for-59) to 37.1 percent (23-for-62). The Racers had 20 assists, compared to five for the Skyhawks.
Marquis Weddle led Tennessee-Martin with 17 points, 13 in the second half, while Clayton added 15, including 12 in the first half.
