Disney Half Marathon 2010 Proceeds Despite Snow

Florida (GaeaTimes.com) - Floridians and people all over the world are braving freezing temperatures this weekend at the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. The Disney Marathon has started in spite of heavy snow and freezing cold today morning.
The weekend events, include a Health and Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Osceola County, a 5K Fun Run at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, Kids’ Races at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and the event’s two signature races — the Disney Half Marathon today (Saturday) at 5:40 a.m. and the Disney Full Marathon Sunday at 5:40 a.m.
Runners will get the unique chance to high-five favorite Disney characters during the weekend.
More than 55,000 participants have registered to compete in this event. You can register online.
Disney Marathon us USA’s second largest running event in terms of number of participants. The leader is Arizona’s Rock n Roll marathon race.
