Maine defeats Hartford 77-69; wins 5th straight
HARTFORD, Conn. — Gerald McLemore scored 27 points to help Maine defeat Hartford 77-69 on Saturday.
The Black Bears (13-6, 5-1 America East Conference) shot 51.2 percent from the field (22 of 43) and 12-for-18 from 3-point range (66.7 percent).
McLemore, who was 7 of 11 from beyond the arc, shot 8 of 13 from the field.
Terrance Mitchell scored 17 points, including 9 of 9 from the free throw line for Maine. Junior Bernal added 11 points.
The Black Bears had 15 turnovers, which led to 26 Hartford (5-15, 3-4) points, but outrebounded the Hawks 32-28.
Maine led 43-32 at halftime and shot 63.6 percent in the first half (14 of 22).
Charles White scored 18 points, Morgan Sabia had 16, Joel Barkers added 13 for Hartford.
