Coach Miller: Self-sanctions coming for Arizona

SEATTLE — Arizona first-year coach Sean Miller says his school will impose its own sanctions on the basketball program for violations by former coach Lute Olson related to an offseason AAU tournament in 2008.

Miller confirmed after his Wildcats lost Thursday night at Washington that Arizona will announce its own penalties on Friday.

He did not confirm or deny a Foxsports.com report that the Wildcats are going to sacrifice a scholarship, recruiting days in the summer and on-campus visits by recruits.

Miller says he’s been aware of the situation well before the former coach at Xavier took the Arizona job in April.

He says he is “very confident” in what the university and its athletic department has decided and that it “doesn’t come as a surprise to me.”
