Murray State beats Tennessee Tech 94-62
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — B.J. Jenkins scored 23 points and Murray State stretched the nation’s second-longest winning streak to 14 games, crushing Tennessee Tech 94-62 on Thursday night.
The streak is two shy of the team’s all-time record and kept Murray State (23-3, 14-0) undefeated in the Ohio Valley Conference, extending the Racers’ conference winning streak to 21 straight games.
Tony Easley added 11 points for the Racers while Edward Daniel and Isacc Miles finished with 10 each.
The Racers connected on 63.5 percent of their shots from the field (33-for-52) and had a 32-25 advantage in rebounds. Tennessee Tech shot just 36.7 percent (18-for-49).
Kevin Murphy led the Golden Eagles (12-13, 6-8) with 16 points, Elijah Muhammad had 14 and Zach Bailey scored 13.
The game was close in the first, but a halftime-bridging 14-0 run by the Racers put the game out of reach.
