Harangody out at least 1 game with bruised knee

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody will miss Sunday’s game against St. John’s after sustaining a bone bruise to his right knee in a loss at Seton Hall.

Fighting Irish coach Mike Brey says an MRI performed Friday showed there was no ligament or cartilage damage. He says Harangody is likely a long shot to play when Notre Dame plays at Louisville on Wednesday.

Harangody, who is third in the nation in scoring (24.1 points per game), did not talk with the media a day after his injury. He appeared to walk without much of a limp when he arrived, but was practicing walking with crutches as practice began.

The injury comes as a time when the Irish (17-8, 6-6 Big East) are trying to make a push for the NCAA tournament.
