Bost leads Mississippi St past Auburn 85-75 in OT

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Dee Bost scored a career-high 32 points, including five of Mississippi State’s 11 points in overtime, and the Bulldogs beat Auburn 85-75 on Saturday night.

Bost hit seven 3-pointers, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists to rally the Bulldogs (18-7, 6-4 Southeastern Conference) back from a 14-point first-half deficit against the Tigers (12-13, 3-7).

Auburn was led by Tay Waller’s 21 points and Lucas Hargrove’s 20 points and 10 rebounds, but Mississippi State held the Tigers without a field goal in the overtime period. The Bulldogs outscored the Tigers 11-1 in the extra 5 minutes.

Auburn’s only points came from Johnnie Lett, who missed 3 of 4 free throws.

It was the second straight win for Mississippi State in a six-day, three-game homestand that ends Tuesday against No. 3 Kentucky. The Bulldogs in a first-place tie in the SEC West with Arkansas.
