Love’s 20 points help Xavier beat Florida 76-64

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Jason Love scored 20 points, Jordan Crawford added 18 and Ken Frease had 12 as Xavier beat Florida 76-64 on Saturday.

Crawford scored 12 of his points in the second half. Most of his points came after the Gators had fought back from a 16-point deficit in the first half.

Florida (17-8) fell behind 38-22 with 3:52 left in the first half but rallied to tie the game at 47-47 with 13:03 left.

The teams swapped the lead four times before Xavier (17-7) went ahead 54-52 with 9:20 to play on Frease’s jumper. From there, Crawford hit a 3-pointer to start his scoring spree.

Terrell Holloway scored 10 points for Xavier, while Jamel McLean had 13 rebounds.

Florida was led by Chandler Parsons’ 15 points, Kenny Boynton and Vernon Macklin each had 12, and Erving Walker added 11.

Love scored 14 of his points in the first half, all of which came on slams, tip-ins or layups.
