Strasburg off to strong 2nd start

CLEVELAND — Showing off his 100 mph fastball, Washington’s rookie sensation Stephen Strasburg has seven strikeouts through four innings against the Indians.

Strasburg struck out the side in the fourth Sunday to escape his first real trouble during his second major league start — his first on the road.

In the fourth, he gave up the first two walks of his career, but then struck out Austin Kearns and Russell Branyan to end the inning.

The phenom gave up a game-tying homer in the second to Travis Hafner, who pulled a pitch into the Nationals’ bullpen in right.

Strasburg struck out the first two batters he faced and two more in the second. He struck out Trevor Crowe on a 100 mph fastball for his first out and later froze Jhonny Peralta with an 83 mph changeup.
