Taiwan pounds Saudi Arabia, 18-0 at LLWS

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Wei-Chih Chen and Yun-Heng Li Wu each knocked in three runs and four pitchers combined on a one-hitter to lead Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to an 18-0 victory Saturday night over Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, at the Little League World Series.

The game was over after four innings due to Little League’s 10-run rule.

Taiwan scored six runs in the top of the first inning. Chen walked to forced in a run, while Shang-Yu Wu and Chun-Yi Hung followed with back-to-back two-run doubles.

Li Wu capped the scoring with an RBI single in an inning in which Taiwan sent 10 hitters to the plate.

Jacob Ksiazek had the only hit for Saudi Arabia, a single in the fourth inning. The team is comprised mainly of children of Americans living abroad.
