Murray State beats Morgan State 75-66

MURRAY, Ky. — Ivan Aska scored 17 points and the Racers extended their winning streak to 17 games by beating Morgan State 75-66 on Saturday.

The Racers (26-3) tied Butler for the nation’s longest winning streak, and set a new school record for consecutive wins in their 18th straight home victory.

Murray State already clinched the Ohio Valley Conference crown with two remaining games — at second-place Morehead State on Thursday and on the road against third-place Eastern Kentucky next Saturday.

The Bears (20-9), who clinched the regular-season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship, actually led 33-30 at halftime. But the Racers opened the second half on a 12-3 run and cruised the rest of the way.

Isaiah Canaan added 14 points and five assists, while B.J. Jenkins chipped in 13 for Murray State.

Reggie Holmes paced the Bears with 22 points and eight rebounds.
