Murray State rolls past Tennessee State 76-54

MURRAY, Ky. — B.J. Jenkins scored 17 points to lead Murray State to a 76-54 victory over Tennessee State on Thursday night, extending the Racers’ winning streak to 12 games.

Eleven players scored for Murray State (21-3, 12-0 Ohio Valley Conference), which also won its 15th straight home game and its 18th consecutive regular-season OVC game. The Racers used a 17-4 run to take a 39-24 lead with 18:28 remaining in the game.

B.J. Jenkins and Ivan Aska each hit layups to give Murray State a 43-27 advantage with 17:50 to play, and after Tennessee State’s Jeremiah Crutcher scored, the Racers added six straight points for a 49-29 lead with 14:35 to play.

Danero Thomas added 12 points, Isaiah Canaan scored 11 and Aska had 10 for the Racers.

Robert Covington scored 19 points to lead Tennessee State (4-20, 1-11), which has lost seven straight games, its longest losing streak since 2006-07.
