Savannah State defeats Stetson 82-68

DELAND, Fla. — Sophomore guard Tracy Rankins scored 24 points to lead Savannah State to an 82-68 win over Stetson on Monday night.

The Tigers (10-14) had five players in double figures while scoring a season-high. Rashad Hassan had 18 points, Preston Blackmon 15, Patrick Hardy 11 and Arnold Louis 10 for Savannah State.

Stetson’s Ridge Graham had a career-high 30 points, the most any Hatter has scored this season. A.J. Smith chipped in 15 points for the Hatters.

Savannah State won for the fifth time in its last seven, and swept the season series against Stetson.

The Hatters (6-20) lost for the eighth time in their last nine.

Stetson got within six, 65-59, on a layup by Graham with 3:13 left, but the Hatters never got any closer. A dunk by Louis and layup by Hassan pushed the lead back into double digits, 69-59, with 2:30 to play.
